METALLIC BROGUES ❤

Gold brogues matalan

Gold Laced Brogues - Matalan £12

This week I moved offices & although I still work in the city centre - which by the way is gorgeous, we Scots don't appreciate how lucky we are - I now have to take the train and walk to our new building.

Since I swore an oath throughout uni that I would never be that office lady with the smart ensemble sporting the tights & running shoes (not a good look), I had to invest in a new pair of flats to assist in the steady stride to work in the mornings.

I spotted these little numbers in Matalan, my new favourite it may seem! They're colour coded as 'gold' but I'd say they verge on being more of a rose gold which is fab since they match everything! I like that they're slightly distressed to, so although they're not real leather they could possibly pass for it since they're soft & grainy.

I really loved a wee pair of Henry Holland ones that I spotted while taking my usual shortcut through Debenhams but I'm pretty satisfied with these numbers and at half the price, I can't complain can I ?

What do you think about metallic footwear? Do you sport the dreaded trainers & tights combo? eek!

Tell me all about it below!

MAC MADE IN HEAVEN

I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend!

Like most of us, I struggle to keep my face in check all day without having to contend with shiny skin (not a dewy glow!) especially working in an office for hours each day with complexion deteriorating air conditioning!

I needed something to set my make-up but also act as a good coverage on it's own for when our summer weather returns - if our summer weather returns - and I decide to brave it foundation-free.

I opted for MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish pressed powder in shade 'Medium Plus' which is perfect worn independently or teamed with my foundation for a fixed look. Since I have extremely temperamental combination skin, this product is perfect as the enriched minerals help to balance oils without stripping dry area. In terms of longevity, I apply the product once in the morning & never feel the need to top up which is great because it saves time & cash too!

In serious need of a new powder brush, I spotted this Real Techniques large powder brush while I was doing my weekly shopping! I love how soft it is but what impressed me even more so was that it doesn't cast! I don't know how many expensive brushes I've used where I look like I've sprouted a beard by the end of the application so I was so pleased with the result!

It's safe to say these two are firm favourites in my make-up bag!

Herbal Essences 'Hello Hydration' Deep Nourishing Intensive Mask - £2.50 (special offer)

With the exposure to the amazing weather we've had over the weekend, I couldn't help but feel that my hair has been totally zapped of it's moisture! I found myself wandering around the beauty aisle last night in Asda (I'm easily distracted quite clearly) & I spotted this mask by Herbal Essences. I knew straight away that it would find itself in my shopping basket.. I was instantly sold by the words 'coconut' & 'whoops.. £2.50'. Whether it would live up to expectations & quench my lifeless locks was yet to be discovered.

After a hectic day in work & straight to the gym afterwards, I thought I'd give this a try. I popped it on after washing my hair & towel drying. I've also heard that if you do a towel turban with a hot towel it helps masks do their job - plus it was super cosy!

I kept it on for an hour or so while I watched some TV & now that it's off my hair feels amazing. I knew it had made a huge difference when rinsing it off, my hair felt hairdresser fresh.

So not only does my hair look & feel silky-smooth -  it smells delicious too. I think I may have shamelessly exclaimed a advert-esque 'oh yes!...' - in my head of course. I would guess that the tub probably has at least another 5 applications worth left so it's definitely great value especially since I got it on a deal (always the bargain hunter). Overall a fabulous unexpected find!

Have you tried this product? What do you think of Herbal Essences?

Mint Blazer - New Look (Sold Out similar here for only £7.89!) | Lilac Cami Top - Matalan £7 | White Tennis Skirt - Matalan £10 | Nude Mary-Jane Brogues - Primark £10 (Similar here!)  Vintage Floral Bag - Matalan £15

Hello

I came out of the blogging closet! (a very fitting term to use)It's been a long time coming & as much as I was beyond nervous for the reaction, it's the best feeling. I think I'll miss my secret double life in the blogging underworld but it's refreshing to know I don't need to bite my tongue anymore.

It seems like I'm an advocate for Matalan at the moment.. I seriously can't get away with how many beauties they're coming away with this season & online there's even more. You'll recognise this lilac cami from a recent post. It's perfect for this up & down weather because its great on it's own but also works well layered.

Unfortunately this mint blazer from New Look is sold out but I've discovered a fabulous dupe from eBay for £7.89 & there's lots of other colours too. Ideal for our indecisive weather in Glasgow.

When I spotted this little white tennis skirt I had to buy it as it reminded me of the one from Zara that sold out almost instantly & is now going on ebay for double the price. (Note to self : buy in bulk from Zara & make millions....) Entrepreneurial day-dreaming aside, it's a total bargain at just a wee tenner, perfect for my spring day out with Eilidh (www.maisymeow.com) our boyfriends & of course my Lola.

We went for lunch & as you can see I sipped on Kopparbergs - blissful!

what do you think of this outfit? Did you know you can follow me on instagram @_ashfairy ?

P.S I'd like to thank everyone I've met through blogging in person or online, you're all amazing & make it so enjoyable - so much love!

EASTER BUNNY♡

Blazer - Primark | Nude patent shoes - Primark | Pink crepe shift dress - Matalan | Aviators - Matalan

Hello! How amazing is this weather?! I'm soaking it up & using every minute to make the most of my recent buys.

Since it's Easter Sunday, it's always the unwritten rule to get a little more dressed up than usual so I smartened this little bargain from Matalan with my white blazer from my weekend away post!

I'm amazed at the quality of this shift dress! It fastens at the back with a chunky zip similar in style to one I have from Zara. I always think that if you mix your textures correctly your look appears more expensive so the clash of crepe, waffle & the smooth sleeves makes this outfit for me.

As always I picked a statement necklace in this amazing neutral blush colour to tie in my shoes.

I hope the Easter Bunny brought you all lots of treats! I'll clickable links to this dress later.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Pastel Cami - Matalan £6 | Watch - Michael Kors | Necklace - Primark £6 | Floral Clutch - Matalan £15

So it appears I'm a Matalan addict

I just can't help myself just now, Matalan is 5 minutes away from my house & I absolutely LOVE all of the simple pastel pieces they're bringing in. It's waaaay too easy!

I've literally bought these camis in every colour, it just so happened that these little guys made the cut for the blog pic. They're fab for just throwing on with jeans or they tuck in well to anything highwaisted!

They're already wardrobe staples this season.

Not normally one to be taken in by sales pitches from the beauty counters as I'm trying to take the shortcut through Debenhams in Glasgow to Argyle Street, a couple of weeks ago I must have been having a moment of weakness & was lured in by a Benefit girl.

As a BadGal lash lover, I was reluctant to try anything else, especially if it involved a plastic or rubber wand. However, I was more more than pleasantly surprised when i was handed the mirror for the results of They're Real mascara. The results were super quick & I couldn't believe how easily it builds with what seemed like zero effort!

Since we all know I'm a lash addict, this product has saved me a fortune on falsies for the last few nights out and also given me an extra 5 minutes snooze in the morning. Well & truly worth the money!

PS. I'm growing my brows out for shaping soon so please excuse the strays!

VINTAGE FLORALS

Pastel Clutch

Floral Print Purse Clutch || Matalan £15

Hello

I think that we can safely say that a post is well overdue!

As you may or may not know, I started a new job & I've found it super difficult to balance work, family life, social life & everything else in between. I've finally settled into a routine & I'm going to put time aside on Sundays to catch up with the weeks purchases + finds.

And what a better way to come back to blogging normality than to show off this little baby! How cute can one clutch bag get?

I'm obsessed with this vintage floral print bag from Matalan which I honestly think could pass as a wee Topshop number! With my ice-cream coloured wardrobe shaping up nicely in prep for some summer weather (which doesn't look likely anytime soon ...) this is totally perfect for any outfit.

I like that I can take it from day - evening with the detachable gold chain strap & at £15 how could I have said no?

I hope you're all well!
